When I was a kid growing up in Australia, my twin sister Anna and I wanted to make a little extra money. So, we did what any determined kids might do—we started collecting cans for cash. In the heat of Queensland, we scoured every corner, searching tirelessly for bottles and cans. We didn’t make a fortune, but that experience taught me something priceless: if you want something meaningful—whether it’s money or a dream—you have to work for it.
Years later, that same drive helped me write Ratnapped, my children’s book. It reminded me that every small effort matters. Whether it’s chasing cans in the summer heat or chasing a creative vision, perseverance is what turns a simple idea into something lasting.
Have you ever taken on a small project that ended up teaching you a big life lesson?
